Good product--Installation directions need improvement : Bully AS-600 Aluminum Side Step
The steps arrived prompltly and in good order after the order was placed.
The steps themselves are well made and well finished.
However, installation instructions and parts included for installation are unrelated to the reality of mounting the steps to the 1990 Ford E350 van for which the steps were purchased.
The step had to be (at least to my eye) mounted to the sheet metal under the doors. That consists of an enclosed tube running under both doors--there is no way to reach behind the mounting surface to screw a nut onto a bolt. At least the surface is flat the allows placing the step "pads" (pads being the flat surface on each arm of the step) directly on this surface with the step at the correct angle to be used.
I had to drill extra holes into the step pads and enlarge the single existing 1/8th inch hole in each step pad to allow screwing two large sheet metal screws into the sheet metal of the van.
I still can't figure out how on earth the brackets and bolts included with the step could be used on any vehicle using the pitiful instructions included with the steps themselves.
Bottom line--The steps are a good buy and well made--you will have to just figure out how to intall them on your own once you get them. However, I think most people who have a moderate mechanical ability will be able to devise a means to install them on their vehicles.
I would suggest putting maybe three holes in each "pad" and including matching sheet metal screws or sheet metal bolts to allow mounting on the flat surface found (at least) on the underside of Ford 1990's vintage E-series vans--where is is not possible to get to the backside to put a nut on a bolt.
